The SECOM ASIC, used for the DARA satellite ABRIXAS and the
ESA satellite XMM, was implented by DD&T in cooperation with IAAT Tübingen.
It is a central part of the MPE/AIT X-ray imager on the XMM satellite.
XMM is four times larger than Abrixas, making it the largest research
satellite ever built in Europe. It was developed and assembled by Dornier
in Friedrichshafen. XMM was successfully launched into space in december
1999 by a Ariane-5 Rocket. |
